Which are the emails levels of encryption?
They are 3 types of emails - each with its own level of encryption.
All the emails have the same edition options: rich typography, inline images and attachments.
1- Emails encrypted only between KRYPT7 users
- This is the highest level of encryption.
- Only the sender and the original recipients can decrypt this type of emails.
- Those emails are signed.
- There is no log of those email's sending.
2- Emails encrypted with at least one recipient outside KRYPT7
- A shared key must be included in this type of emails.
- Anyone who has access to a message of this type (e.g. by transfer) can decrypt it.
KRYPT7
users are warned just before sending that one of their recipients is outside KRYPT7
and therefore, that a shared key must be attached to the email - lowering thereby the security. - Those emails are signed.
- There is no log of those email's sending.
3- Emails in clear, between any type of recipient
- That's the type of emails received directly from outside of
KRYPT7
, and those who are sent deliberately in clear mode by KRYPT7
users. - Those emails are not encrypted in any way and are not signed. They don't have an authentication code.
- Those emails are not signed.
- Those email's sending are logged for 45 days.
