# What's the idea behind Monitor?

Monitor is a security service, created to allow you to send prewritten emails on your behalf, when you can't do it by yourself. It can be useful, for example, if you know that you will probably be in danger for a while (like during a travel in a dangerous area) or by simple extra precautions (like if you go trekking).

The usage of Monitor is very simple by design: you must actualize yourself at least every 2 weeks, on the Web or by SMS. If you don't, each recipient of your instructions receives automatically the email you destined for them.

Monitor must never be used if someone's life or fate may depend on the action 
of the service.

Also, Monitor should always be used in parallel with other tested ways to contact
your recipients.
